Last Saturday I showed Bill and Rocky at Back Mountain Kennel Club shows in Bloomsburg.
I wasn’t feeling up to going on Saturday, I had a bad cold all week. But it was a beautiful sunny day and off we went.
I did not enter Ted at these shows, he has some growing up to do. He is quite the willful boy. I hope to bring him out again after I finish Bill. Bill has been showing well and I hoped for some more points at these shows. Rocky is the perfect show dog, he always behaves and looks like the champion he is.
He only needs 3 more points for his Grand Championship.
Bill entered the ring first and walked nicely with his ears up and tail wagging. The judge was a tall man who was a little heavy handed on the dogs. Bill did well enough to get Winners dog for a point. He now has two points. Rocky showed beautifully. However he was ignored in the Breed ring, I was disappointed but that is the way is goes sometimes.
I now officially own Rocky exclusively. I am so happy that he is completely mine. He now lives with us full time. He gets along well with the other dogs.
Sunday was also a lovely day. We had an early ring time, so the time change was appreciated. We were out the door at 6:30 AM. The judge was a very gentle elderly lady. Bill showed nicely again and managed to get Best of Winners for another point! Rocky got the Breed win for 4 points and now is a Grand Champion! I am thrilled.
We stayed for the group competition. The professional handlers with the top dogs ruled the ring with attitude, but I am not intimidated anymore. We didn’t place but Rocky made me very proud and showed well. It was a good day!
I will probably add a little more to my book now that I have finished Rocky’s Grand Championship just in time to enter him at Westminster for 2012. I can’t believe how far I have come.
It is taking me forever to get this book published, I still need to have my editor go over the writing again.
I am hopeful it will take off early next year.
More shows next week!
