The Dog Show Blues

Dog Show Blues - Rocky on display at WestminsterI have not been to a show since Westminster, and I’m not missing the scene so much. Perhaps I’m a little burned out. I have realized I just can’t compete with the “big dogs” so to speak. I want to get Bill’s grand championship, but after that, I don’t know.

I’ve come to realize the politics of judging are a little too much sometimes. I’m not part of the in crowd, the ones who cozy up to the right people and go to every show weekend after weekend. I guess I’m not that dedicated. I just want to have fun! That has to be my attitude. Bill and I are hanging in there for now. We are looking forward to spring. The shows outside are more relaxed somehow. I love being outdoors. Although Bill likes it too much and insists on sniffing the grass and looking for little girl chihuahuas! The food is better too, ah, the smell of a good grilled cheese sandwich.

In the meantime, it is fairly quiet for now. the dogs are dozing, Jack is snoring. Gypsy is getting a little chubby. Bill rolled in something nasty this morning, bath time later.

That’s all for now. I’ll keep you posted!
